We were released from the hospital today. I got the okay to leave a day early yesterday but we had to wait and see if Ainsley would be released. The nurses were a little concerned because she had lost some weight (she went from a birth weight of 9 lbs 13 ounces to a cleaned up weight of 9 lbs 11 ounces to weighing 9 lbs 1 oz). The pediatrician recommended supplementing her because my milk had not come in and it took about 5 days for it to come in with Liam (although he didn't lose very much weight). While at the hospital, we supplemented with one bottle and I pumped. It seemed like she spit up a lot after that bottle. I had gotten about an ounce of milk when I pumped so instead of using the formula once we got home, we used the pumped milk instead and she did well with that. We rented a pump to help my milk supply come in. They also had us schedule a doctor's appointment for tomorrow for a weight check so she can be established on their scale since every scale can be a little different. We have an appointment for Tuesday as well so hopefully then we will see some weight gain.
She also has a heart murmur. This is very common to have especially in the first 24 hours but it usually corrects itself very quickly. They did an EKG on her and sent it to the cardiologist at Children's to have it checked. The cardiologist came in today and listened to her heart and said that it was still there. We have to follow up with them with Ainsley is 6 months old to see if it closed on it's own or if we need to do anything else.
They discharged her and here she is in her seat waiting for daddy to bring the van around (which he couldn't find because Tadpole had driven it to the hospital. He did find it eventually though).
When we arrived home, our house was decorated with It's a Girl things and pink everywhere!!! My mom, dad, and Liam were watching out the window when we arrived.
Here is Sean feeding Ainsley her second bottle (I missed getting a picture of the first in the hospital). She took to the bottle right away!
Liam asked to hold her so here they are together. So far he has been very sweet with her.
All bundled up and resting at home.
