Yesterday we had the nurse home visit. On her scale, Ainsley weighed 9 pounds 4 ounces. That was good news. She told us that Ainsley and I were looking good!
This morning, we went to the doctor and she weighed 9 pounds 5 ounces. The doctor said that was good progress. She hopes that by the time she is 2 weeks old (one week from today) she should be back at her birth weight. We go back again on Saturday to check her weight again. The doctor also noticed that Ainsley has a strawberry birth mark inside her nose. It isn't an issue now but it can become raised over time so it's something to watch for. Usually it wouldn't matter but since it is in her nose, we have to watch that it won't block her airways.
