Eight Months

Liam is eight months old today. He started officially crawling this week. He has been able to get around for awhile but it was somewhat like he was swimming on land. He finally has coordinated his hands and knees moving and he is all over the place! He has gotten two teeth (the bottom ones) and has tested them out a bit while nursing (ouch!). Fortunately, he has only done that a few times so I am hoping his gums were just hurting then. Speaking of teeth, we brushed them for the first time this past week.

Over the past month, Liam has been mostly sleeping through the night (with a few random exceptions that we blame on teething or possibly an upset tummy). We generally put him down between 7-8, depending on how much he has napped that day. He will generally sleep for at least 9 hours and sometimes up to 12. When he does get up, he generally nurses and then sleeps until we need to get him up to go to work.

He loves to stand and often reaches for our hands to help pull him up. He also really enjoys eating solid foods. He gets pretty upset sometimes when we won't share our food with him. A new favorite of his is pumpkin. He still really enjoys puffs and cheerios. He enjoys feeding himself although he still lets us know it's time for a bite. He knows that when I sign milk, it means that he gets to nurse and he gets very excited.
